We won’t go into every aspect of what Heaven is as that could take volumes to discuss. Instead, we will focus on a few verses that dispel any notion of dead loved ones being in Heaven. It is understandable that we want to think our deceased loved ones are in Heaven with Jesus Christ, and ultimately, if they lived live according to the example set by Jesus Christ, the dead in Jesus Christ are indeed on their way to the First Resurrection (please click this link), which has not happened yet. How do we know this? Look at Revelation 20:
3And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. 4And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Why are not many of the established, well known churches talking about this in full truth? Because they are giving you a sign that they are either lukewarm or false! Satan has double agents everywhere, and some churches are not immune. You cannot be a Christian and not understand the basic teachings of Jesus Christ. So for the sake or your salvation, we are telling you to revisit your understanding of Heaven. Our dwelling shall be the New Jerusalem. Let’s look at Revelation 21:
1And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Revelation 21:22 goes on to say that our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ the Lamb are the Temple of the New Jerusalem. Our eternal objective is to get to, and really become, the City of New Jerusalem! Amen!
